Tuesday, February 06, 2007

Harris & Harris Group is a publicly held venture-capital company listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker TINY. Since 2001, the firm has made all of its initial investments in companies that are commercializing products enabled by tiny technology, that is, nanotechnology, MEMS and microsystems. Harris & Harris currently has 26 tiny technology companies in their portfolio. The market focus of each of these companies varies widely and includes semiconductors, healthcare, photonics, instrumentation and tools and energy. The stage at which the frim invests in companies also varies signicantly; that is, they will invest at very early, seed-stage rounds of funding as well as late, expansion-type rounds of funding.

Mr. Wolfe's presentation will discuss the emergence of nanotechnology as an investment opportunity as well as the types of attributes the management team of Harris & Harris Group looks for when using companies in its current portfolio as case studies.
